It is a patented chest harness with integrated handles for increased support that was designed by a nurse. Created specifically to help you recover better, faster and with less complications.
QualiBreath supports your sore respiratory muscles, the chest and the rib cage with it’s thorax surrounding design that stabilises the sternum from the sides.
The vest features special handles that allows you to increase the support when needed most. Coughing, deep breathing and early return to normal activity can be very painful after your surgery yet are very important for a quick and complication free recovery. Using the handles will give extra support also when sneezing or straining.
Using a support such as QualiBreath has been scientifically proven to reduce complications and pain after open heart surgery via a sternotomy.
QualiBreath is the only dual function chest support binder (constant support plus integrated handles) and it is most likely the most comfortable external chest brace available.
QualiBreath splints the chest 24/7 and there is no need to hug a pillow. When feeling pain, straining or about to cough or sneeze, simply grab the integrated handles, which are always ready in the right position, to increase the support around the rib cage.

AxillaPads: The AxillaPads are soft, comfortable cotton pads which will help you to protect the product from excessive underarm sweating. Simple to attach on the binder.

Female patients with breast size below cup D can also use QualiBreath. For additional comfort and privacy, the breast cover accessory can be added simply by attaching its upper corner velcro pieces to the inside of QualiBreath and by closing the elastic band around the chest. The breast cover is not a bra but will cover any breast tissue appearing below the QualiBreath.
For breast cups D and larger we recommend using the specifically designed QualiBra Advanced - breast and sternum support

What patients say about QualiBreath
"I was introduced to Qualiteam products in hospital following a recent triple bypass operation. It was recommended I try using a Qualibreath Sternum and Thorax Support, as I was also suffering from a chest infection and coughing was very sore and uncomfortable. The support helped greatly in managing these symptoms and also helped me rise from lying on positions more easily. I purchased the Qualibreath Postoperative care kit, and this has been excellent to date."

"I just had open heart surgery 5 days ago. The nurses put the QualiBreath on me after I complained of feeling loose in the chest and feeling like my chest was separating. Much relief was felt after wearing it."

"I am now undergoing a recovery from a sternum repair after my first operation failed I feel that if i had been given the support vest the first time i would not have had to have it redone. I can say that the QualiBreath support vest has been one of the best thing to help with my recovery."

"My dad went in for a very unexpected triple by pass a couple weeks ago. I grabbed him a Qualibreath and had it on standby at St. Boniface. He didn’t end up putting it on until he got home a week post surgery. As soon as he put it on you could see the relief on his face, he literally took the heart pillow and tried to throw it and asked me to remove it from the house as he never wanted to see it again lol He has been wearing the brace consistently only taking it off for laundering purposes and showering. His words exactly “the peace of mind I feel wearing this is incredible”.
My dad had a discharge meeting the other day and I can honestly say that 2 weeks post op he looks a million times better then the pillow totters that were there for their meetings.
Just wanted to say thanks!"

"QualiBreath worked out great for me and I am doing great. My surgeon even let me start driving two weeks earlier than expected. I wore QualiBreath during my stay in hospital (5 days) and for about two weeks after I got home. I think it really helped with my posture by keeping my back straight. I also think the support the QualiBreath provided helped with my walking therapy because I was able to start walking "hospital floor laps" as soon as I got out of ICU. Also, I rarely used the "cough pillow" hospital provided because QualiBreath gave me the protection and support I needed. Only issues I had were that QualiBreath had been put on me "inside out" in operating room, so my sister (who had read instructions) put it on me properly in recovery room and all was well. I also had to train nurses to keep EKG wires outside of QualiBreath. Nurses and other staff were very interested in QualiBreath and asked lots of questions. Thank you so much for helping make my recovery go more smoothly and, I believe, more quickly."

"I just wanted to let you know that 3 weeks ago, I broke my 5th rib on my right side. Very painful. The ace bandage wrap the doctor gave me did not give me much comfort so I used a Qualibreath instead. It worked AWESOME. It was also very comfortable and was easy to wash. The bars on the front were also a savior when I would laugh or sneeze, which was the most painful events. Thank you for inventing this product!!!"
Mike C., Sycamore, IL - USA
"My dad says he really likes how effective QualiBreath is in providing support for his sternum, especially when he coughs."
J.C. Cardiac OR nurse, NY - USA
"Thank you for this product is easy to wear and confortable, and I feel support in my chest."
